Here are some of our favorite bearded iris--old and new. A number of the antiques were in Macey's grandfather's catalog in 1940 and for the most part we have used his descriptions.

This diploid is a seedling of I. cengialtii from pollen of CLOWN PANTS (which is I. variegata X I. suaveolens var. mellita).
